Hikaru is a first-year student at Ouran High School (Freshmen), and the older of the Hiitachin brothers.

Hikaru is generally a very nice person, but doesn't easily accept others into his and his brother's life. The first that they have naturally accepted into their lives is Haruhi, with whom they can trust. Hikaru has definately begun liking Haruhi as more than a friend.

Hikaru tends to be a bit rash at times, and is very selfish, considering he's bearly ever has been forced to share because of his (and his brother's) lack of friends throughout all of elementry and middle school. This is why he can also become very jealous with no notice.

Kaoru and Hikaru can both be very mischevious at times, playing out elaborate plans to trick people into getting what they want. They will go to almost any lengths to achieve this goal.

Kaoru

Kaoru is a first-year (freshmen) at Ouran High School along with his brother. He is the younger of the twins.

Kaoru seems to be the more caring of the twins, because dispite his love of his brother as more than a beloved brother (this is just something I heard, tell me if I'm wrong, okay?), he willingly gets Haruhi out on a date with his brother in episode 16. Kaoru loves his brother dearly, he's the closest thing to Kaoru's heart, thus Kaoru's main goal is to make sure his brother is happy.

Kaoru, along with Hikaru, can be mischevious. They will go to any length to get what they want, but Kaoru is quite a bit less prone to jealousy and selfishness than Hikaru.
